Private for Family

Robert Andre Waters of Chesapeake, VA, was born on April 27, 1971. Known affectionately as “Rob” by his friends, he graduated from Deep Creek High School in 1989. Following high school, Robert proudly served in the U.S. Army. He was cherished for his kind, loving, and humorous personality, earning him the affectionate nicknames “Big Man” and “Man” among family and childhood friends.

Robert lived life with passion and strength, embracing every moment. He had a strong love for cars, a lucky streak with the lottery, and an unwavering loyalty to his football team, the Commanders. A natural competitor, he thrived in games of cards and chess, where his strategic mindset was his greatest strength, helping him outsmart his opponents. Known for his unique style, Robert made an entrance wherever he went, always arriving fashionably late with a smile that could uplift anyone's spirits. A true jack of all trades, he provided handyman services to his community, tackling every challenge with determination and skill. His 53 years were marked by genuine kindness and an ability to bring joy and laughter to those around him. However, on December 23, 2024, he left behind the most important treasures in his life: his family and friends.

He is survived by his mother, Mary “Linda” Waters; his sister, Melba Parker (Jaquan); his brother, Romell Waters; his daughters, Rannisha Missick (Phillip), Tyeshia Waters, and Tiara Gibson (Argentina); his granddaughters, Auriya Haskins, Kenzie Missick, Zalia Gibson, and Kaylee-Rose Brooks; his grandson, Kai Missick; his nieces, Jazmen Peele, Jayla Saunders, and Janiya Saunders; his nephews, Dejuan Peele, Jaquan Saunders, and Jashaun Waters; his aunts, Ellen Dixon and Sylvia Williams; his best friends, Eric Jones and George Graham; along with a host of great-nieces and nephews and numerous cousins who loved each other like siblings. He is preceded in death by his father, Robert S. Turner; his grandparents, Nathaniel and Emma L. Dixon; his aunt, Doris Dixon; and his uncle, Clifton T. Dixon.

Big Man’s departure leaves an unfillable void in the lives of all who loved him. Yet, we find comfort in the cherished memories and everlasting love he shared with family and friends. Robert “Big Man, Man, Rob” was a beacon of kindness and love, and he will forever reside in our hearts. As we cope with the loss of his physical presence, we take solace in knowing that his spirit lives on through the memories and love he instilled in us. He was truly an amazing person.

“Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.” Matthew 11:28-29 KJV

I had the pleasure of meeting Rob through a mutual friend about a year ago. Although brief, Rob's genuine, friendly and kind personality quickly came through. It was immediately obvious he was one of those special people you don't often come by, with a huge heart and great character.

My heartfelt condolences to his family and friends. You are in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

Rest easy my friend, you will be missed.

My deepest condolences Waters family. I Was introduced to Rob a few years ago and he quickly became someone I called my friend. I didn't see him one time that he didn't lecture me about taking care of my car or checking it out.Even with his bad shoulder saved me at 6am and came to change my tire (fussing while doing so but was the only one who I could call and that would come)Rob had a big heart under that tough exterior. He will be missed and will hold a special place in my heart.

Sending my sincerest condolences to the family. Rob and I have known each other since our teenage years. But we didn't get real close until about 4-5 years ago. And during that time, we became super tight. He could call me at any time for anything and id be there and vice a versa. This one really hurts. Rest easy my friend. ..... Ross
